Sierra Orthopedics

Financial Policy

The financial responsibility for services rendered rests with the patient and payment at the time of service is expected. For your convenience we accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. If necessary, payment arrangements can be made in advance.

The following is a brief explanation of our Billing Practices and the exclusions to the above policy:

Private Insurance: Sierra Orthopedics, as a courtesy, will bill your private insurance. If after 90 days we have had no response from your insurance company, all balances will become the patient's responsibility and are due in full.

HMO/PPO: Sierra Orthopedics is contracted with most HMO's/PPO's in the Reno area. Please check with your health plan or your provider directory to determine if our doctors are contracted providers for your health plan. If your insurance plan requires an authorization/referral for your initial visit or new injury, it is your responsibility to obtain the authorization/referral prior to the scheduled visit. Failure to obtain the authorization will result in rescheduling of the appointment, or the patient being responsible for all charges incurred at the time of service. Once we have the initial authorization, our office will be responsible for obtaining additional authorizations for subsequent visits. We will collect all co-payment amounts at the time of service, and submit a claim to the health plan for reimbursement.

Failure to present a current Medicaid card will result in rescheduling of the appointment.

Workman's Comp: Sierra Orthopedics is happy to provide treatment for work-related injuries. You must provide the receptionist with the information for billing. The patient is financially responsible if the claim is pending or denied.
